Donis .A Dondis - A Primer of Visual Literacy

This book was on the reading list for this module, so naturally I took it out to browse through. It touches on the basic elements of design and with visual communication. Key features I looked at were:
- Contrast and Harmony
- Composition
- Symetry

- Style (Expressionism, Classicism, Embellished, Functionality)
- Function and Message (how to get the two to work together to get a good working design)
- What a visual message is made up of

These are all alot of things I've looked at before
, but this has reminded me of the many ways all these things can change the look and feel of your work and change the meaning of the message you're trying to send.
I didn't read the whole book, mostly chapter summaries and alot of examples, which was what I liked about this book. There were alot of visual examples where you can see what Ms.Dondis was talking about put into practice so you could easil
y follow on from them and create things yourself to those specifications.
